Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day everyone! Today, we celebrate our planet and our responsibility to protect it for future generations.

Over the last 50 years, Royal Centre has been adapting our operations to reduce our environmental footprint resulting in many green building certifications including LEED Gold, BOMA Best Gold and CaGBC Zero Carbon. While this might seem like jargon, receiving these certifications means Royal Centre met rigorous environmental standards for lighting, heating and cooling and emission reduction.

On a daily basis, we have staff at the food court helping patrons divert their waste from landfill by separating compostables and recyclables resulting in a 86% diversion rate. We also work with ChopValue to recycle chopsticks used in our centre and have a sustainable purchasing plan and even have a bee sanctuary on our roof.

By celebrating and practicing sustainability, we can make a positive impact on our planet and inspire others to do the same for the next 50 years and beyond. Let's work together to create a more sustainable future for all.
